PEPPER
(Piper nigrum)

CONTRAINDICATED: Large amounts of members of the Piper family (pepper/s) should be avoided during PREGNANCY (abortifacient properties).

White and black peppers are produced from the same plant.
For black pepper the berries are dried in the sun before being fully ripe.
For white pepper the berries are allowed to ripen fully, then soaked in water until the outer coat peels off and then are dried in the sun.
