ACIDOPHILUS
(Lactobacillus acidophilus)

Friendly bacteria of the digestive system necessary for proper digestion and prevention of many disorders including candidiases and thrush. Available in plain yogurt. Important dietary supplement during and after antibiotic therapy to replenish friendly bacteria in the digestive system. Has also shown to be effective against vaginal yeast infections and other fungal infections caused by Candida albicans. Helpful part of diet during a cold. Also reported helpful in preventing traveler's diarrhea with attention to cautionary avoidance of certain foods known to be suspect when traveling. Supplements in capsule or liquid form are available.
