menuLICE
Although there have been good commercial products available for a number of years, parasites have a way of developing immunity to our best efforts. Because lice lay eggs which later hatch out, it is necessary to repeat alternative treatments at least twice at appropriate intervals.

OINTMENT

Bruise a handful of Anise seed and add to 4 oz of petroleum jelly. Use a double boiler to gently simmer at low heat for at least an hour.
Strain and pour into appropriate ointment container and let set up. Apply to affected area and cover with saran wrap for one hour before washing out.

HEAD LICE

Use either petroleum jelly or mayonnaise in the hair, covering well down to the roots. Wrap the hair in saran wrap for 1 hour. Wash hair (may require two washings). This will smother the lice. Follow up with a fine toothed comb to remove eggs. It should be repeated to get any eggs left behind that could hatch out.
